Sarah & Tom
Nestled in The Lake District and the Eden Valley this beautiful house is part of the rather special Rowley Estates, which has been cherished by the Rowley family for generations and its just exquisite. Even better the local and rather pretty parish church, St Johns the Baptist is linked by a secret path from the Hall itself directly through the walled garden. It doesn’t get any better!
When picking your wedding venue, its perhaps worth giving a thought on the internal spaces available for photographs should the weather goes all Cumbrian on you. Sarah and Tom chose Melmerby Hall for many reasons, the classic neutral décor, high ceilings and big period windows allow the light, however limited, to spill into the rooms and the classic architectural features, space for stunning compositions and back drops. The same applies to churches. The church in these images has no artificial lighting, so all you will see here is the light, beautiful natural light, quite stunning, a documentary photographers dream!
Sarah & Tom and families came up from the midlands for their day and they more than delivered a really classy, small midweek wedding. I was booked to be their Lake District wedding photographer just until their speeches began. It was stylish and uncomplicated. Sometime the simplest things are hard to beat. I loved this day.
